From studying theatre to living abroad in Germany and London, painting scenery off Broadway and houses in Maine, and watering plants in Manhattan offices, Michelle’s journey has been anything but conventional.

Coaching high school sports and teaching environmental education across New England taught her a lot—mostly that she had control issues.

After traveling the country for a year as part of her graduate work in Environmental Education, she settled in Sonoma County, California, in 1989.
